UPSC National Defence Academy (NDA) Examination & Naval Academy Examination

National Defence Academy (NDA) is the first tri-service academy in the world. NDA is a Military Academy in India which trains cadets of three Services namely the Indian Army, Indian Navy and Indian Air Force (these three are combinedly called Indian Armed Forces). UPSC Conducts “National Defence Academy” (NDA) Examination & Naval Academy Examination twice a year for recruiting only Unmarried Male candidates who wish to join Army, Navy, and Air Force wings of the NDA and for Indian Naval Academy Course. Eligibility Criteria for NDA & Naval Academy Examination

 Nationality – A candidate must be a citizen of India / Nepal/ Bhutan or Tibetan refugee or a person of Indian origin.

 Age Limits: Minimum Age Limit – 16 years; Maximum Age Limit – 19 Yrs (No Age Relaxation)

 Marital Status – Unmarried; Only Male candidates are eligible to take this exam.

 Minimum Educational Qualifications – (i) For Army Wing of National Defence Academy:- 12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination conducted by a State Education Board or a University. 

 (ii) For Air Force and Naval Wings of National Defence Academy and the 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme at the Indian Naval Academy:- 12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent with Physics and Mathematics conducted by a State Education Board or a University. How to Apply for UPSC NDA & Naval Academy Exam

Candidates can apply for UPSC NDA & Naval Academy Exam through online mode only using the below-granted link. Candidates are required to pay a fee of Rs. 100/- (except SC/ ST candidates/ Sons of JCOs/NCOs/ORs) through net banking or by remitting the money in any Branch of SBI by Cash.

Written Examination is conducted in Offline (pen and paper) mode.

General Ability Test Consists of two Parts – Part A – English (for 200 marks) and Part B – General Knowledge (for 400 marks containing questions from Physics, Chemistry, General Science, Social Studies, Geography, and Current Events). The papers in all the subjects will consist of objective type questions only. The question papers (Test Booklets) of Mathematics and Part B of the General Ability Test will be set bilingually in Hindi as well as English. Candidates successful in the written exam are then called for an interview by a Services Selection Board.
